Utah Prisoner Advocate Network
UPAN | A nonprofit community advocacy group supporting the families of Utah inmates.
We are asking our UPAN participants to contact their local representatives and senators and invite them to our January 2016 meeting. You can find out who they are by going to: le.utah.gov. E-mail them, call them, and send them a written invitation. This will only be successful if we all do our part to invite them!
If you wish to speak at this meeting, please arrive about 10 – 15 minutes early to sign up on the speakers list. We will begin on time at 6:30 p.m.
Due to a problem with the heating system in the Draper Library, we have been informed that our reservation for that location for our January 11th meeting is CANCELLED, so our meeting venue has been moved to the Salt Lake City Public Library located in downtown Salt Lake at 210 East 400 South, in the 4th Floor Conference Room. For those who have invited their legislators, please notify them of the change in venue. The date and time has not changed. Also, if you know other family members of inmates please help to inform them as well because our January Newsletter will not reach inmates in time for them to inform their families.
An underground parking facility can be accessed from eastbound 400 South between 200 and 300 East. Parking in this city-operated facility is free for the first half-hour, then $1.50 per half-hour after that. Any vehicle displaying a disability special group license plate or disability windshield placard may park in the parking garage at Library Square for two hours with no charge. Additional time beyond the two hours is $1.50 per half-hour. This parking structure offers two electric vehicle charging stations located in the southeast corner of the lower level (P2) of the parking garage, as well as two on-street electric vehicle charging stations located near the 500 South exit ramp (255 East 500 South).
There is some street parking, but make sure you feed the meter and watch the time, as they are not necessarily free after 6 p.m.
