Utah Prisoner Advocate Network
UPAN | A nonprofit community advocacy group supporting the families of Utah inmates.
The Utah Department of Corrections invites interested community members to attend Focus, a discussion forum. The next meeting will occur virtually on September 21 at 6 p.m. You can join the meeting via Zoom at https://zoom.us/join by either computer or phone. The meeting ID is 939 5639 6802. Once the presentation is complete, you can ask questions through the chat feature or submit ahead of time to [email protected].
In the next session, UDC plans to discuss the New Utah State Correctional Facility being built in Salt Lake City, a few miles west of the SLC airport. They will share how the new facility will provide opportunities to expand treatment and evidence-based programming, and enable them to move toward direct supervision. UDC public forums are an opportunity to engage families and friends of incarcerated individuals, and community members in a dialogue around a specific topic in order to share information and address concerns. Families and friends play such a critical role in an incarcerated person’s success, and it’s important that we provide them with the information and resources they need to support their loved one. For questions, please reach out to Kaitlin Felsted, Communications Director, at [email protected] or 801-560-7608. If you have specific questions regarding your incarcerated loved one, or Corrections in general, we encourage you to continue utilizing the UDC public website or contact them at [email protected] / 801-545-5500.
