The UPAN Newsletter has the most current and relevant information on developments in the area of criminal justice in Utah affecting inmates. Topics span from legislative actions to government accountability, and helpful resources to information on new and existing programs. UPAN exists because family and friends of incarcerated loved ones in Utah are frustrated with the system and want to see common-sense reforms. We advocate for better conditions within our jails and prisons that will benefit the inmates, their families, prison employees, volunteers, and the community in general. By sharing the newsletter with your inmate, you’re contributing to change from within the system by dispelling myths and misinformation. By keeping inmates informed, you’re telling them that not all hope is lost—people on the outside are working hard to advocate on their behalf. We high encourage UPAN families to come to our monthly meetings to interact and engage with others that are going through the same experience. Please join the movement and help UPAN to spread our message!
